Gor Mahia branches are scheduled to have a meeting at the club offices on Sunday 9 October at 10am.
The meeting is set to discuss and fine tune the proposed constitution and it is expected that every club branch will be sending a representative to the same meeting.
The Kenya Premier League defending champions’ SGM that was scheduled to take place on Sunday, October 2 was put off to a later date due to several concerns that were deemed necessary to be addressed first.
A letter sent to the club’s branch chairmen and its registered members explains that the postponement of the meeting was due to questions raised by certain stakeholders on the procedure, manner, bonafide, propriety and constitutionality of the convention of the meeting.
The venue of the meeting being unavailable has been listed as a reason as well as the fine tuning of the proposed Amended Club constitution, the need to comply with the Sports Act, 2013 and the CAF club licensing requirements.
The final reason as written in the letter was the importance of coming up with an Amended Constitution which both complies with the Sports Act and meets the approval of the members of the club prior to the meeting.
