Kenyan captain Victor Wanyama continued to impress in Tottenham Hotspur midfield earning the Man of the Match award as the side ended Manchester City’s unbeaten run with a 2-0 win at White Hart Lane.
By the end of the first 30 minutes Wanyama had won four tackles, 14 touches and had 100% accurate pass completion but made two fouls one of them earning him a yellow.
Wanyama started the buildup to the first goal beating Nicholas Otamendi to find Eric Lamela who passed to Danny Rose and his cross troubled Alexander Kolarov who scored in his own net to give Spurs an early lead at the ninth minute.
Spurs added the second at the 37th minute through Dele Alli. Lamela missed the chance to make it three missing from the penalty spot.
First time not to score
