Western Stima coach Henry Omino has clinched the Sports Journalists Association of Kenya (SJAK) best coach award for the month of September after leading his side to two successive wins in their league matches in September, identical 1-0 wins against Nairobi City Stars and AFC Leopards.
Sweeping the giants
Omino clinched the award on a tight tackle from Sony Sugar’s Salim Babu, defending champions’ trainer Marcelo Ferreira and league leaders coach Paul Nkata.
This is the second time the 53 year old tactician is scoping the award after taking home the award in July.
In the month of September, Omino registered a double over AFC Leopards beating them in GoTv shield cup and also undoing them in the league.
Western Stima managed two clean sheets with their custodian Gabriel Andika proving to be vital for their remarkable run.
They are currently third in the table, eight points adrift of Tusker and five behind second-placed Gor Mahia. Only five games remain before the season ends.
