  • Tens of students have been arrested in Eldoret town after a sex and drugs orgy
  • This is a second incident to be reported in Eldoret in less than two years

Twenty four students are in the mercies of police after allegedly being caught having sex, smoking and drinking alcohol on Wednesday.

The students are said to have been celebrating a birthday party at Kapsoya estate, one of the oldest suburbs in Eldoret town.

The Star divulges that Kapsoya OCS Daniel Sindindi said they found condoms and mattresses in the house.

“We are investigating the incident. We are also looking for the owner of the house where the students were gathered,” said Sidindi as quoted by the news site.

Public schools across the country went for a mid-term break over the weekend.

This incident comes even as concerns over the drama in public universities emerge. Speculation is rife that the idle mood around campuses could be a haven of all immorality in Kenyan public varsities.

Learning has been disrupted after lecturers in public varsities went on strike over close to two months ago.

Appearing before the Senate Education committee, the University Academic Staff Union (UASU) officials led by Secretary General Constantine Wasonga and Chairman Muga K’Olale said that they would only end the strike if the Government agreed to “enhance” its offer of Sh 10 billion by at least Sh 7 billion.

October 2015’s raid by the Alcohol Drinks Control Board on Sam’s Discotheque in Eldoret saw 500 students arrested for alleged sex and drug abuse party.

In September last year, another fourteen students were arrested after they were allegedly caught having sex, smoking bhang and drinking alcohol in Naivasha’s Kabati estate.
