A draw or a win for Chelsea against Everton on Sunday guarantees Champions League football next season – “a good achievement” according to Blues boss Antonio Conte, but the Premier League title is clearly his main focus.
“When we started this season, our first target was to play in the Champions League next season” Conte told BBC Sports.
“It’s an important target for the club, for the fans, for the players. But, for sure now, we stay in a position to try also to win the league.
The Blues manager said among top six teams on the EPL table two won’t play the UEFA cup next season.
Chelsea, Tottenham, City, Arsenal, United, Liverpool are all jostling for next season’s Champions League mercies.
“It’s 11 games that we are not able to keep a clean sheet and, for this reason, it’s important to improve, to work on the situations we’re conceding the goals. I’m not concerned about this, but at the same time, we are working on it,” Conte said.
