Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria has been arrested over hate speech claims.
The vocal Jubilee legislator was interrogated on Monday afternoon at the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) headquarters along Kiambu Road,
A fierce critic of NASA presidential candidate Raila Odinga, Kuria went off on a live Facebook stream hurling insults at the former prime minister and his family. Kuria said Mr Odinga had become a headache to the ruling Jubilee administration.
It is alleged that the firebrand legislator said that outsiders residing in Kiambu County would be flushed out and unspecified consequences meted on them.
Kuria expressed disgust with the approximate 100,000 people in the populous Kiambu County who voted for the NASA presidential candidate. He allegedly said they should be weeded out.
About an hour after Kuria’s arrest, former Machakos Senator Johnstone Muthama was arrested over inciteful remarks he made on Sunday in during NASA Kitengela rally.

A section of political pundits have expressed worry over the raging hate remarks from elected leaders ahead of the repeat presidential elections.
The MPs said Government agencies should move swiftly to prosecute the three over remarks they termed as ethnic profiling which they warned risked plunging the country into fierce tribal conflicts.
The National Cohesion and Integration Commission chairman Francis Ole Kaparo had earlier stated that the watchdog was probing over 277 cases of incitement including Moses Kuria’s. The former national Assembly speaker said if found culpable, the legislator would be charged as stipulated by the NCIC Act.
