Acting Interior CS Fred Mating’i has announced that Wednesday, October 25 will be a public holiday.

In a special gazette notice, Matiang’i said that the move is meant to enable Kenyans to exercise their constitutional rights by participating in the repeat presidential elections set for Thursday.

The repeat polls are expected to proceed despite boycott calls by the opposition alliance NASA.

NASA required its supporters not participate in the repeat poll alleging that the IEBC had pre-determined its result in favour of ruling Jubilee Party.
