Kakamega County senator Cleophas Malala has said that the Opposition will make Raila Odinga president, in case President Uhuru Kenyatta is sworn in as head of state.

Malala claimed that the constitution has a provision that could help Raila Odinga be the president of this country on oath of office.

While addressing a section of youths in Kakamega on Friday, the Senator said their rivals in Jubilee will be “surprised”.

He said; “We shall keep this Jubilee government on its toes. What the Jubilee lawyers are advising the government is complete nonsense. They will be surprised because it’s like they have forgotten what their MPs recently passed in parliament.”

The first time senator said this referring to the Election amendment bill that was passed recently in parliament.

The bill gives privilege to any judge besides the Chief Justice has the powers to swear in a president-elect.

Malala assured their Jubilee counterparts that there shall be a counter-reaction from the NASA side if President Kenyatta is sworn in.
