    A special prize was awarded in Cannes for the anniversary year. The Belgian filmmakers Jean-Pierre and Luc can now be happy about the award.


    Belgian filmmakers Jean-Pierre and Luc Dardenne have been awarded a special prize at the Cannes Film Festival.

    The award will be given specifically for this anniversary year, said the jury president Vincent Lindon. The Dardenne brothers have already been invited to Cannes with many films and twice won the main prize, the Palme d’Or (1999: “Rosetta”, 2005: “The Child”). This year her film “Tori and Lokita” was in competition.

    The work tells of the young migrants Tori and Lokita, who met while fleeing and are now pretending to be siblings in order to obtain residence status for Lokita (Joely Mbundu). allow in Belgium.
